NO GAS GRILLS, CHARCOAL GRILLS, or FIRE PITS ARE PERMITTED ON THE PROPERTY

The Fort Wayne Fire Department has implemented a strict interpretation of the fire code with regard to the use of BBQ grills at apartment complexes. The Fort Wayne Fire Department is not allowing gas or charcoal grills on balconies or patios. Charcoal Grills: The Fire Department is interpreting the law to say that charcoal grills and other open burning devices, such as fire pits, may not be used or stored within 10 feet of a building. Consequently, the use of charcoal grills is prohibited. Gas Grills: The law regarding gas grills is clear—they may not be present at all — even the small camper type. Gas grills with the tank removed is still subject to fine; therefore, is not allowed. The fine for having such a grill may be as much as $50.00 per day. If fines are issued to Management, they will be passed along to the resident. Electric Grills: Electric Veranda Grills are permitted on balconies and patios. Regarding Lease Compliance: Violation of this fire code can result in the termination of your residency pursuant to Article 20, section c. of the lease agreement, which states: Lessor may at its election terminate this lease and Resident shall vacate the Apartment within 24 hours after written notice if Resident or any occupants of the Apartments shall engage in or permit actions upon the leased premises that: (1) are in violation of any municipal, state or federal law; (2) cause or threaten damage or injury to the Persons or property of Lessor or its representatives, or other residents, or other persons lawfully upon the leased premises; Note also that section 17 of your lease agreement states: Resident shall not do or permit any hazardous act which might cause fire or other damage …Resident will not store or use kerosene, gasoline or other flammable or explosive agents in or around the Apartment.

About the Pools

To have access to the pools, you must stop by the office and sign the Swimming Pool Lease Addendum and receive the code to the gate. As a reminder, residents are permitted ONE guest per apartment. Residents under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Residents must be prepared to show their Willow Creek Crossing ID card to staff members, security officers and police officers at any time while utilizing Willow Creek Crossing amenities. Per the Board of Health, you must be at least 14 years of age to swim without a responsible adult. It is imperative that residents follow the Swimming Pool rules to ensure an enjoyable season for everyone.
